What’s Cookin’, Good Lookin’?
Thank you for visiting my page!
I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Had a great childhood with a loving family. At the age of 6, I knew that I wanted to be an actress. I think of it as my vocation. I started participating in TV commercials early on and taking diverse artistically inclined classes, such as ballet, painting, acting, modeling and wrestling (that one was at home with my older sister). As an adolescent, I was a great student at school but had a rebel side, which my mother would tame by throwing me a “chancleta” when necessary, Dominican style. Upon my high school graduation, my parents wouldn’t support my career choice of acting, so I ended up going to Law school and becoming a lawyer. I practiced for about 8 months, doing mostly corporate work.
On April 1st of 2008, I made the best decision of my life: To move to the US to pursue acting professionally. I landed in the big apple and immediately enrolled in an Acting conservatory program for approximately 3 years at HB Studio. Moved to La La Land for a few good years and then came back to NY where I now reside. It has been a wonderful journey, nevertheless a challenging one. I’ve grown as a person and as an artist. I’ve laughed and I’ve cried. Above all, I am very grateful for all the great opportunities I have had to work in diverse Film, TV, New Media, Commercial and Theatre projects doing what I love. And I am open and ready to embrace new and greater ones!
I would describe myself as loving, warm, empathetic and confident. Do you have any faults, Alexandra? You might ask. Sure! I am stubborn and sometimes I don’t like to wash my hair (shhh). I like volunteering for good causes, spending time with my loved ones and eating chocolate.
God Bless you!
